It’s Raining Crystals from the Future

Tropical Chicks Go Like This

Happy New Year ya’ll. Sorry for not posting a lot recently, this week has been mental. To make up for it here are some of my favourite tunes I heard on NYE. The first was played by Alan Taylor at the afterparty. I think. Memory’s a bit hazy. Tropical moombahton vibes with a real nice hip-hop sample from 7A3.

At the Bernard Shaw, Frankie Bingo played an incredible set, mixing up some of the biggest tracks of the year with some lesser known tunes. Ramadanman (who Ignored Playaz are bringing to Dublin in February) Work Them was one of the highlights.

This last is nothing to do with NYE, but I thought with the death of Bobby Farrell, a Boney M tribute was needed. Peep the Lady Gaga sample.

As a new year’s present, and to make the post title relevent, have one of my favourite mixes of last year, seeing as by now at least all the tracks will be available, I spent months waiting for them when the mix came out.

  2. Thanks for showcasing my Moombahton refix. I am glad a few people got the connection between classic hip hop and tropical sounds. Massive respect. Happy New Year.
