Hallowe’en Treats

Oliver Twizt – Doodles

I found this track on Haido’s brilliant Forward/Slash guest mix, which he mixes beautifully with Mumdance’s Smasher. Loving this track at the moment, that flute/pan-pipe sound just works so well.

Flying Lotus – Do The Astral Plane (Them Jeans House Remix)

While we’re on the subject, another stand-out track from that mix was this beautiful groovy Flying Lotus remix by Them Jeans. The edited vocal sample is instantly catchy, and the beat is just irresistibly groovy.

Willow Smith – Whip My Hair (Coin Operated Boy Remix)

Couldn’t help blogging this great remix from one of my favourite young producers, Coin Operated Boy. I’ll be doing a post on his amazing Trust Me EP soon, but for now check this. Can’t wait to get a chance to play it out.

Cajmere – Brighter Days (Mercury Edit) (link courtesy of the wonderful Pelski blog)

This one I heard first in a set from one of my favourite Dublin DJ/Producers, Bingo. An exclusive Forward/Slash interview with Mr. Bingo is on the way. Loving all this old-style house coming in, the 90s style beats match the vocals so nicely.

Traffic Signs – The Big Fake (Homework Bootcut)

First it’s the Renaissance Man Windowlicker remix, now Homework have remixed another one of my favourite classics, The Big Fake, by Traffic Signs (Steve Bug). I’ve loved this tune for years, and was so happy to hear a new remix of it, and, they’re giving it away for free!
